Along the 300+ km highway G5621 from Kunming to Dali, the road is high-quality and smooth, passing through 35 tunnels – very impressive. Service stations are spacious, and rest stops are located about every 20–30 km. Inside the stations, the washrooms are very clean and well-maintained, and the restaurants serve local food either from a food court or as a buffet – both equally delicious. A buffet of 14 dishes, plus rice and soup, costs ¥35 ($7 CAD).
