    There are absolutely no cellular coverage in Eagle Plains and minimum in Inuvik, but the places we stayed wifi are surprisingly much better than expected. I wonder why, checking the connection - they both use StarLink!

    On the 21st day of the trip, after driving 9035 km, we arrived at Tuktoyaktuk, the northernmost hamlet in Canada, stepped into and touched the Arctic Ocean. The water doesn’t taste as salty as the Caribbean’s. Strange. Our teammates brought Arctic Ocean brand Mandarin drink all the way from Toronto, and we all enjoyed it so much.
    We were happy to see the German lady that had flat tire, and she replace all four tires of the rental vehicle! Make sense.
    The famous Grandma’s kitchen is closed due to grandma went to Inuvik, however since she never locks it we were able to drop in for a quick tour.

    Back to Inuvik we did grocery shopping for dinner then went refuelling.
    A trainee of a full service gas station filled my diesel pickup with gasoline. He has been specifically told diesel, and I have also asked him if he'd prefer I back up further closer to the diesel knozzl. A moment later the manager came over chatting with me and suddenly he realized the tank was filled with gasoline! The auto shop next door (how convenient) opens on Monday morning at 10. Just have to wait.

    By 13:15, Northwind told me the tank cannot be directly drained out; it must be taken down! That’s a bit surprising, a design flaw by GM. We were discussing contingency plans with teammates in case the truck is done by 17:00, it will be challenging to drive 5 hours without bright daylight…
    However, there is always good news – at 13:30, Jeremy, the boss, informed me that the tank is flushed clean, and we will be on our way in about an hour.
    14:20 All done, all good! Henry saved my day.
    15:00 All stuff loaded back to the truck, we are on our way to Eagle Plains!

    About 2-3 kms north of Arctic Circle Sign we saw tire debre on the road we guessed were the fall-off outer layer of retreaded tires, until at the sign pullout we saw this camper trailer. Driver did not know it lost the whole wheel and on its axle for about 3 kms. Extremely risky. Helped them called the towing service by leaving message from Eagle Plains land line.

    After a stressful day, we had a good rest at Eagle Plains. This morning, we ordered very delicious breakfast, then set out for Dawson City. On my way out, I was surprised to hear someone calling my name – it was Judith, the couple from the travel trailer that lost its left wheel at the Arctic Circle sign pullout area yesterday. They finally managed to contact a towing company, and surprisingly, Judith had used their service before. Because Judith gave them a good review on Facebook for their quality service, the towing company is willing to prioritize moving the trailer to the nearest garage. Treat other people the way you’d like to be treated.
