Quick Peak at a Great Lake

Michigan wasn't part of our plan, at all, but Mike us took us on a "one mile" detour for a pizza that ended up on a two hour event where we ended up in Michigan. We figured while we were here we would go see a Great Lake. The weather ended up being kinda crappy once we got to the park. Slightly drizzling and very, very windy. We saw some dunes that looked like they would be fun to drive with the jeep, but the signs around the sand made it clear this was not the place for that.Read more

Woke up in T. Roosevelt National Park

Mike was driving the night before and parked us here when he was getting too tired to drive. I woke up early the next morning when the sun was just starting to rise. It was a beautiful sight!

Lake McDonald

We were lucky enough to have perfect weather and almost clear skies as we watched the sun set over Lake McDonald. The pups enjoyed laying on the beach in the sun while Mike and I admired the beautiful rocks in the lake.Read more

Glacier National Park

We spent almost a whole day driving around checking out the park. Going to the Sun Road was only open up to the Avalanche campground. We stopped at a couple of stops along the road north of Lake McDonald along McDonald Creek.

We then headed back south and made a few more stops along Lake McDonald. We stopped at the gift shop near Apgar campground.Read more

Our Short Drive Through Yellowstone

We drove through Yellowstone from the north through Gardiner and then out the east side towards Cody, WY. While I was kinda disapointed we didn't see any bears in GNP, we saw a momma bear and two cubs shortly after entering the park.

We then saw another bear that was feasting on another animal.

We Saw Wild Mustangs!

We woke up in the Walmart parking lot in Cody, WY. We had no idea we were going to find a wild horse management area. We had loaded up on coffee at the McDonalds in Cody and started heading to the Badlands. We happened to see a sign on the side of the highway next to a dirt road, so we checked it out. We ended up seeing two wild horses!

We didn't make it all the way to McCullough Peaks, but next time we are in the area we will have to make sure we have more time.Read more

Mount Rushmore

We made a stop to see Mount Rushmore. I enjoyed seeing the Memorial, walking through the exhibit, and learning that President Jefferson was the author of the first ice cream recipe in America.
