    Day 10: Reykjavík

    September 7, 2015 in Iceland ⋅ 🌧 13 °C

In the morning, we took the bus back to Reykjavik. A long the way we passed some typical Iceland Sightseeing Spots, like the Gullfoss and Geysirs. In Reykjavik we stayed again at the campground and even saw some northern lights. That was just the perfect ending of the bike trip.

    September 5, 2015 in Iceland ⋅ ☀️ 7 °C

Windy, it was really windy. My mom even got push off the bike once. Nothing happened and we laughed about it. Today we were cycling south back in the highlands. Our goal was to make it to a farmed cabin. The hospitality was super nice. (The orange hut was a rescue shelter)

    Day 7: Blönduós

    September 4, 2015 in Iceland ⋅ ⛅ 6 °C

First we had the plan to take a route back in the highlands, but on this route we would have to cross some rivers. Because of the heavy rain last night it would have been to dangerous so we cycled to Reykholt and than took a bus to Blönduos far in the north of Iceland.

    September 3, 2015 in Iceland ⋅ 🌧 8 °C

It was a tough night. Around one at night, there was a huge storm over us. I have never been in a tent when it was that stormy. The tent was holding up well. The next day we had only some little uphills, followed by a long descent to a small city where we stayed at a campground and made the plans for the next day.Read more

After our plans have been upset, we choose to go north to the highlands and plan from day to day. The weather wasn't good at all. It was raining the whole day. We found an amazing place to put up the tent as you can see on the photo.

    Day 3: Reykjavík

    August 31, 2015 in Iceland ⋅ ⛅ 9 °C

I definitely need another Bike. In Selfoss I tried to fix it, but it would have been to dangerous if we wanna go to the highlands. So we decided to take a bus to Reyjkavik, which was a 2 hour busride. The good thing is, that on most of the busses, you can take the bikes with you. Reykjavik has a very nice campground which is not far away from the main center. We decided to stay for one night, try to get a bike and do some sightseeing in Reykjavik. Reykjavik has only one Bikeshop, but penty bike rentals. After couple of hours I finally had a bike which cost me around 200 € for 7 Days. My mood was on low point. Now i need to chop off and enjoy the rest of trip.Read more

    Day 2: Selfoss

    August 30, 2015 in Iceland ⋅ ☁️ 10 °C

Today began with heavy rain but that wasn't to bad because the weather in Iceland changes every hour. Our route was ledding us to Selfoss. We were cycling next to the ocean so stopped by and took some pics on the cliffs. When we rode into Selfoss, my backwheel felt unlikely. When I looked at it, I say the fracture in chainstays. That was a shocker. Would that be the end of the trip before it really began? We stayed at a campground and tryed to figure out what we can do.Read more
