Rain is forecast for a few days so Janette did some mowing. I did a bit of cleaning up which is always a good excuse to light a fire.
Calf marking is organised for Friday afternoon. The two still-to-calve cows might not have calved by then. Even if they do, their calves would still be too small to mark. If they both have a heifer, it would make things a bit easier as they would only need to be ear-tagged.Läs mer

Is the calf marking a legal thing or is it just so you can get them back when they find an escape route? Is Janette waving or giving hand signals?. My friend us the coast has 3 lawnmowers. Two ewes and a goat. He ties them to stakes with a rope and ends up with crop circles. Is this Janette's version of a bit of "circle work"? Good to see you enjoying the outdoors. [Paul M]
