Our cruise on the Tamar set off at 10.00am. with Tamar River Cruises. In four hours we went seventy kilometres to the Batman Bridge and back and then into Cataract Gorge.

Although called a river, the Tamar, being fully tidal, is, technically, an estuary.

Commentary along the way told of the history of settlement and pointed out some of the early houses and estates. Our captain pointed out a one thousand acre farm carrying one thousand angus cattle - wow!Read more
