• My Royal Life - an audience with Lucy Worsely

    September 13 in England ☁️ 22 °C

Candice had booked tickets for a show at Richmond Theatre at 2.30pm today.

We decided to make that the event for the day and catch up with work emails, washing and ironing etc. in the morning. The laundry here is in a little shed in the backyard so easier to do everything here than anywhere else we have stayed.

We left in time to go to Marlow, a pretty village with lovely shops. Bought rice and Penang chicken curry for dinner tonight. Beautiful clothing and furniture shops. They really do have a good selection of lovely fabrics and furnishings in England.

Then it was into Richmond in central London to find a park walking distance to the theatre. Candice did an amazing job and we got afternoon undercover parking for £3.95 just a five minute walk away. Thanks to Chat whatever too.

Lucy Worsley is a much beloved historian and author who spent twenty years working as Chief Curator in some of Britain’s most marvellous palaces. She presented on three queens today, Queen Victoria, Queen Caroline (wife of George II), and Katherine Howard (Henry VIII’s second last wife).

So entertaining and thought provoking and lots of humour and gossip. We thoroughly enjoyed the show and the applause was huge.

Picked up some bread and chemist items then back to Henley. Our take home curry dinner was delicious and we made a start to cleaning up and packing ready to go to Kent tomorrow.
