Fremantle Gaol

Fremantle Gaol built the late 1800 was the first prison in Western Australia to handle convicts from the UK, unlike Eastern Australia these convicts were invited by the local administration in an attempt to rebuild the fledgeling infrastructure of the colony. After transportation ended the prison eventually become a maximum security prison for MA, until being decommissioned in 1991.
