Skopje Walking Tour

This afternoon started with a walking tour of Skopje with what can only be described as a member of the Macedonian Nationalists. He gave us an excellent overview of the history of the city but also what life is like in Skopje and Macedonia itself (including his hatred of the word “North Macedonia” and the new flag). The tour included stops at:

• Skopje fortress
• Skopje market
• Alexander the Great statue (all built in 2011 for a city rejuvenation project).
• Mother Teresa Museum
