• Hoffellsfjöll Glacier

    Getting our fill of glaciers today with a stop at Hoffellsfjöll Glacier. The walk from the car park to the glacier was 4KM but my god it was windiest walk I have ever done, even with my hood up, sunglasses and three layers I was frozen, we were totally wind burnt by the end.

    But after walking for 40 minutes we were met with the glacier, and it was absolutely stunning. The glacier begins in the heights of the mountain and freezes in a flow as it comes down to the lake at the bottom, so even though the ice looks still it is slowly moving down the mountain. But equally these glaciers are rescinding due to global warming.
