Torp Airport

We landed at Oslo Torp for this trip, an airport that is 120KM away from Oslo but at £30 return many people land here because it’s much cheaper than the main airport.

HOWEVER, many people don’t actually realise this fact, so there is usually a few people that become confused when they’re faced with a near 2 hour train.

But on this occasion it was 3 lads who had landed at Trop, and were actually travelling to Sandefjord which they pronounced Stanford… they didn’t have a clue where it was, what was there AND they didn’t have anywhere to stay, safe to say to they provided a good laugh while waiting for the train!Read more

Ferry to Strömstad 🇸🇪

Early start (again) to catch the 0830 crossing to Strömstad in Sweden, due to Norway to being in the EU single market the ferry is one massive tax free heaven, so our tickets were completely free!!

Strömstad 🇸🇪

After catching the ferry we arrived in Sweden and the town of Strömstad, we had a walk around the harbour area and then quickly dropped our bags and then headed off to catch the ferry to the islands just away from the city.Read more

Kilesand, Koster Islands

30 mins on the ferry and you can reach the Koster islands, home to only 300 people- the majority live here seasonally- it is essentially one massive national park.

We deceive to hop off the ferry at Kilesand and then do a lap of the island to the other ferry stop before heading back… photos incoming.Read more

The highest point of the island is only around a 50 metre climb and from here you can see the coast and off in the distance you can see the hills and mountains of Norway 🇳🇴.

Final stop is the Kosters Rokeri for some AMAZING sea food which included salmon, crab, caviar, and the best calamari I’ve ever had (by far!).
