Day 453: Back to Paris

Not much happening today, just the long drive back to Paris - around 4 hours worth. Stopped for some baguettes and for petrol, then checked in to our apartment hotel around 2pm. It's a fairly new place, though in a very un-touristy part of town - you could frankly be anywhere in Europe here, really. Only the signs in French give it away.

Shandos stayed behind while I drove the car back to nearby Orly airport. The cost of the parking scrape was around 450 euros, which was bad but nowhere near as bad as we had feared. The guy was nice about it, and said he wouldn't record the dented side panel as part of it, since that was expensive. It got processed as just a moderate scratch to the front bumper. So that was good.

Back home where we settled in for the evening. We've got a kitchenette here, though it's very odd - there's plates and cutlery, but no towels, no dishsoap, no sponge! Weird.Read more
