Day 573: South to Sofia

Another day, another drive! Back in the car and heading south, just the two of us, heading for Sofia, capital of Bulgaria. Our destination was actually on the outskirts, where a world heritage site awaited - Boyana Church. This was a church from I think the 9th century, very old and very small, and with interior paintings from that era.

Unfortunately for me, no photos inside so unless the museum can give me some photos it's going to be a spectacularly uninteresting video! The frescoes were very impressive though, and it was a nice little stop. Our apartment was just nearby and we went to check in a little early. Sadly it wasn't as nice as the pictures had looked; just quite run-down in that old Soviet style. But it's only one night so we'll manage, at least the wifi is good!
