Vulture lane

More rain meant another bar stop. Apparently Vulture lane is the nickname for the street this bar is on - Vulcan Lane. The first restaurant/bar of Auckland was on this street and it used to attract journalists looking for stories, which then attracted lawyers to pursue various stories - thus called Vultures Lane. To this day there are 2 law firms on the street, and the hotel and restaurant that started it all. The hotel has cages in the basement for when sailors were too drunk to walk back to their ship but too poor for a hotel room. We had a flight of beers and they were all very...unique. Vulture Lane seemed like a dive bar but definitely had the best fries and garlic aoili I have ever tried and was full of happy customers.Leia mais
