    Our first hike on the south island was actually our backup hike. We had no intention of doing it but realized the hike we had planned on was 3 hours long and we hadn't that amount of time. So we chose to go to Karaka Point and it was spectacular. Florence had fun learning to skip rocks with Jason and because it was a public holiday (Waitangi Day) the lake was very busy with lots of boats to look at.
