    Wales is so beautiful!

Today, we took an excursion to Gwydir Castle. Gwydir Castle is an ancient Welsh house that was formerly the ancestral home of the Wynn family, descendents of the Kings of Gwynedd. The house and garden have been under restoration for more than 20 years. The surviving buildings date from around 1500.

Most recently. King George V and Queen Mary stayed here as the Duke and Duchess of York.

There were at least 8-10 friendly 'guardian' peacocks strutting about the property in their regal splendor. These beautiful beasts have been tending the property since 1828.

The gardens were magnificent with 14 pre-1700 yews and three surviving Cedars of Lebanon from 12 planted to commemorate the wedding if Charles 1st and Henrietta Maria in 1625.
