Bergen to Oslo Train

Up early this morning for the train to Oslo.

Leaving Bergen at 8:15 a.m, we shared the fast train with about 120 fellow cruisers plus the usual commuters and travelers.

Our six-hour smooth ride carried us through many tunnels, including one six mile tube... as well as presented majestic vistas - mountains, lakes, fjords, icy fields, forests, and more-than-memorable water fantasies around every turn and tunnel egress.

We saw picture-perfect fjords sided by majestic cliffs kissing the frigid water, turbulent river rapids, vast fields of frozen water amid snow filled fields, a 50-mile long lake and solitary, small, wooden domiciles dotting the sparse landscape.

Then, at precisely 3:05 p.m., as promised, we pulled into Oslo. We gathered our 120-strong cruisers and descended on the Clarion The Hub Hotel, a mere 10-minute walk from our train disembarkation point.

Now, one full day left and counting the minutes down to our flight from Oslo to Copenhagen and to LAX.Read more
