    We had a leisure breakfast and finished packing. Took an uber over the famous Øresund Bridge into Denmark. We arrived at 12noon, quick check in and then lunch in main dining room.

    We ran into Manuel who worked in the NCL Spirit on one of our trips. He remembered us right away.

    The Welcome Show was at 8pm. Dinner before in the MDR. We unpacked and Glenn hung up the lights. The room is bigger. Nice inside room.

    Bed by 10:30.

    Thursday morning we had breakfast then HOP ON HOP OFF bus to take us to the Rosenborg castle. We had a tour. Saw the Crown Jewels. Learned a little history. Then back on the bus. Saw the canal. Ate a danish (of course we are in Denmark) 🇩🇰    Read more

    Leisure Day in Malmo

    September 22 in Sweden ⋅ 🌬 63 °F

    We slept in. Still recovering from jet lag. After bfast I took a nap while Glenn went to the hotel gym.

    We ventured out and walked several blocks to the grocery store and purchased some snacks, then back to the nearby park and sat at a picnic table to eat the chips.

    Besides eating Swedish meatballs at IKEA we also tried Swedish fish.

    Then we walked to a local mall and discovered new places. There’s lots of bicycles and people strolling their infants. We noticed hopscotch at the park, in the grocery store and even IKEA. So I googled it.

    IKEA

    September 21 in Sweden ⋅ 🌬 57 °F

    We slept pretty good. I slept from 4:30pm til 10:30pm. Then I was wide awake. Around 1:30am I woke Glenn up so he could watch the final quarter of the Dallas Cowboy game. We won. I fell back to sleep until 7:30am. Shower and very fancy buffet breakfast.

    Glenn has NEVER set foot in that “put together furniture store”. Uber to IKEA. IKEA started in Sweden. We started on the bottom floor and made a game of it.

    Were the products from Sweden or China?

    NEW COUNTRIES UNLOCKED:
    29 countries such as China of course, but Thailand, India, Poland, Vietnam and others. This activity made it fun to be in such a large store. Glenn had his step counter on and we did 1.1 mile on the bottom floor which was small stiff to purchase. I bought several plastic storage bins to use for only 1.00!

    We took a break and ate lunch at the IKEA restaurant. We shared a plate of the Swedish meatball plate with mashed potatoes and green peas. Pretty good.

    After our lunch, we headed to the showroom floor. Overwhelmed, but I think having Glenn trying to find all the countries that have products here kinda took the “edge” or “shock” off.

    We grabbed a cinnamon roll, coke and soft serve ice cream in the market area.

    London to Denmark to Sweden

    September 20 in England ⋅ ☁️ 61 °F

    We arrived on time into London. Then we navigated through the hallways of Heathrow Airport. We even had time to slip in 15 minutes in the British Airways Lounge.

    I spotted the Øresund bridge that’s famous for its construction where 1/2 of the bridge is normal then the road disappears into a tunnel. This bridge connects Sweden and Denmark.

    Once we got to Copenhagen, we followed signs to purchase a ticket to Malmo, Sweden. As we were waiting for the train, we struck up a conversation with a single guy that was traveling back to Sweden to see his missionary parents. We had great conversation.

    We arrived at Malmo central station just before noon and decided to walk the mile to the Quality Hotel.

    However, just outside the central train station I struggled with cobble stone pavement and dragging the luggage then I fell backwards hitting my head on the stone pavement.

    Ouch! I went back into the train station and got some ice from one of the vendors and clarification of our hotel direction.

    It took us a good hour to walk the mile to the hotel. We stopped many times. I even walked into a church.. Took some pictures.

    Made it to the hotel. Found a Magnum ice-cream bar to reward us for conquering the luggage and stone pavement roads. Tried to stay awake, but fell asleep at 4pm    Read more

    TYR - DFW - LHR - CPH

    September 19 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 82 °F

    Couldn’t sleep last night. Everything is packed. Excited.

    Deborah Ray picked us up at 8:15 to take us to the airport. We have a long layover at DFW, leaving at 3pm. And a short layover in London.

    We spent 2 hours in the Club. Nice to relax before the long flight.
