  • 3Score plus traveling to Lubbock

    28 de junio de 2022, Estados Unidos ⋅ ⛅ 77 °F

We left Tyler at 6:30am and drove towards Dallas. Again we stop at Buc eyes for a bathroom break. At Hope Coffee and finally to Juliet Fowler.

We ran into Susan Malphurs there at JF. She worked at the CAM office when Glenn was there.

We enjoyed a hamburger lunch at Northwest Bible Church with mom and dad.

We left early before the program and drove to Lubbock. We enjoyed 2 hour visit with Hugh and Mary Jane Archer. We’ve known them since 1980 from Grand Prairie Bible Church. What fun to remember our times together. Tim and his 2 adult kids came over for a visit. Hugh didn’t have much to say - adult dementia/memory loss.

  • Letterbox Again 3 years later

    29 de junio de 2022, Estados Unidos ⋅ ☀️ 84 °F

When we were in Santa Rosa, New Mexico 3 years with the #conversationscoasttocoast we found a letterbox near the public library.

We found it again! At the park bench, it’s a magnetic box attached underneath the Mail Drop. Glenn was being stealth so nobody suspected anything.

We also had a picnic lunch in the park, right off of Route66!

  • Honoring the Claire and Mayann

    2 de julio de 2022, Estados Unidos ⋅ ⛅ 88 °F

We drive 2.5 hours to Grand Junction Colorado to take Claire, his wife Mayann and their 49 year old adult son, Nathan out for lunch.*

We arrived at their home at noon and sat in their living room for over an hour hearing stories after story of their time on the field in North Africa, over a year of language learning in Switzerland and their challenges and blessing raising a family over seas.

Claire mentioned that there were three things that they focused on: Faith, Family and Fun. He said that he placed the priority of his family first. Every Friday night was Game night for his family. Even though some other families that they worked with couldn’t understand how this was very important to his family.

Nathan reminded me of “I am Sam” character played by Sean Penn. He was genuine, sincere and very likable. He loves trains and sports. especially the recent win with the Colorado Avalanche win (hockey).

Glenn and I took this family out to lunch to a restaurant of their choosing - IHOP, Nathan’s favorite. Again we listened to their story, their struggle and their joys along the way.

After the meal, we handed them a gift bag of items such as Bath and Body lotion, hand sanitizer, chapstick and several gift cards to Panera Bread, Chic-Fil-lay and Jack-in-the-Box.

As we drove them home (their front yard is literally Colorado National Monument), I could only thank God for their 50+ years of ministry. They felt love and appreciated and thanked us for the visit.

    Rocky Mountain National Park

    With Danny and Kathy Mockler

It was 98 in Colorado today, so we drove up to Estes Park. The drive was fun. We each talked about our kids and grandkids. The drive was beautiful coming through Greeley. The AC wasn’t working too good.

We called the Perkins. No answer. Then drove up to the cabin. No one home. Kathy loved the view. We told them about me breaking my ankle in 2010.

They had never been to Rocky Mountain National park. Glenn and I immediately said we had to go -Glenn’s park pass! Loved the view.

Had subway with Nathan and Sarah.

Then everybody meet at the campgrounds.
