Tyler, Texas to Fisher, Illinois

So Glenn drops me off at the Tyler Airport. I was on standby for the 6:30am flight and there was an empty seat.

In the meantime Glenn heads out on I20 up to Texarkana through Little Rock on up to Missouri and Illinois.

In the meantime, my plane had to wait 25 min before we could take off for DFW.

I talked with a very interesting man that sat next to me on the plane.

Once DFW, I purchased a one-day pass for the Admirals Club. I enjoyed breakfast and lunch. I got caught up on emails and YouTube.

In the meantime, I was leaving DFW as Glenn was crossing the Mississippi River. Ellen picked me up in Bloomington.

Ellens 40th bday

The church sang happy birthday to Ellen.

For lunch, Ellen and I enjoyed the Chinese buffet. Then we went shopping at TJMax, Tuesday Morning and Home Goods.

For supper, we met up with Glenn, Luke and the kids st Taco Bell. Ellen opened up more cards, and we enjoyed the supper together.

Once we returned back to Ellen’s home, we all sang Happy Birthday and enjoyed cake that the church had given to her.Read more

Keeping Annie

Last night before heading to bed, Ellen and I explored all options on how we could keep 2 year old Annie for a week.

We came up with a plan for Annie to come back to Tyler with us and either Glenn or myself would use AA miles to bring her back to Illinois 6 days later.

This morning, we discussed with Ellen to just stay here in Fisher, Illinois until the whole family returned from their camping week. This way we could keep the dog also. Since we do much of our work via emails and zoom, then it made more sense. We chatted with grandaddy to let him know we would be a week longer.

Today I did a load of wash and I also cleaned out the refrigerator-washed all the shelves and threw out old stuff.

Glenn and Annie took Shadow for a bike ride. Annie would bring us soccer balls from the garage. Annie was good. She enjoyed playing by herself.

After Annie’s 2 hour nap, we drove 12 miles to Gibson City to get a few groceries. Glenn grilled hamburgers out on the grill.Read more

We went to Ross’s so Glenn could get his 10% senior citizen discount/ we got Annie 2 dresses.

Then to Cracker Barrel for fried chicken!

Annie likes fried Okra!

Annie was sick in the early morning.

Later she got to feeling better.

Annie did take a nap from 2:30-6pm

Glenn enjoys taking her on a bike ride along with the dog. She was full of energy,

Leaving Fisher

I did 1/2 day work of computer stuff. We washed the sheets, made the bed and brought Amanda’s bed upstairs. We also tried to put away all the stuff Annie had pulled out. I did a visual to make sure the house was in order for Ellen and Luke’s return. I know the house will not look the same once they start unloading all the dirty clothes and stuff.

Annie took a long nap and woke up just as Ellen was returning home. She was happy to see everyone.

Annie was a good little gal. We enjoyed keeping her the past 6 days. Now for us to return home.

We visited a bit then we ‘hit the road. Made it as far as Mt Vernon, Illinois - now on to Tyler Texas!Read more

Arrived back home.

It was a full day of driving. We stopped at our favorite Welcome Center just inside Arkansas.

Had lunch at a unique mom and pops restaurant just before we reach the suburbs of Memphis, called Shake Shack. It was more fun watching the locals come strolling in and talking with each other.

We also stopped in Pittsburg to get some Hotlinks for dad on Wednesday. Then finally home.Read more

Saw my mom and dad

A quick visit with mom and dad. Dropped off the table and other stuff that dad needed.

We visited with mom in her room. I used a book that Ellen gave me, “Mom, I want to hear your story”. I asked her questions and it was very informative on the stuff she said. Did you know that pawpaw only went thru 4th grade and Polly thru 9th grade? I look forward to using the book again on another visit.Read more

Phil, our neighbor had new furniture and stuff delivered at his 802 house that he’ll use as an AirBnb. Glenn was down putting together some luggage holders.

However, on the other hand, I asked Glenn to get all of our kids pictures, photo albums and my cross stitches out of the hot garage and into the house. It was like Christmas.

Baby books, coasters, old prayer cards and ALL the letters that mom kept for me when I wrote her 2 and 3 page letters from Bolivia. Back in the day.

We found Paw Paws framed marriage license from 1924, I believe. And lots of kids pictures that I don’t know what to do with. We haven’t even gotten to all my souvenir spoons. That’s for another day.

We did sell 1 file cabinet on Facebook Marketplace and a lady is coming tomorrow to look at the antique canister set.Read more
