Alernator problems

As we pulled into Walmart to get some fuel, Glenn noticed the engine light went off or on. Was it the battery? Or alternator?

We googled Auto zone and there was one just down the street. Tested. The employees recommended a mechanic down the street.

So here we sit in the back yard of “some mechanic” watching him change the alternator from the old one to the new one glenn purchased at Auto Zone.

Lunch with Natalie

We made it to Grace Bible Church in Killeen, Texas to attend the luncheon where Natalie was speaking and giving an update of her ministry.

Natalie talked about poverty. About physical, emotional and spiritual poverty. She talked about Victor. A 14 year old that had to drop out of school because of Covid and go to work to help his family since everything was closed down. At one point he lost 2 fingers in a carpentry accident.

NatAlie has been a missionary for the past 6 years in a village outside of Guatemala City, teaching English in the local school.Read more

Leaving Tyler for Dallas Then Corpus

We dropped the Camry off at Tyler airport so it will be waiting for us on our return next week.

Stopped in at Waxahachie Bible Church to see Bruce. His mother was an Avant missionary that recently died. Unfortunately we can not make it to her memorial service later in the week, so we stopped to see Eunice’s son, Bruce.

As we were driving the Scion, it started giving us trouble.

Next stop Waxahachie and Killeen then Corpus Christi! (And a Buc-eyes somewhere along the way)Read more

Our flight from Corpus was uneventful however our connecting flight was delayed 2 hours in Dallas.

Scott and Carol took us out for dinner. We had a wonderful time “catching up”.

I planned 3 week tour to Italy and France for Scott’s sabbatical earlier in the summer. They’re special friends. So glad we could stay with them for the night before heading to Ellen’s.

We’ve had a special afternoon with just Elizabeth. Went to the park, then a peach ice real cone!

After a long drive from Illinois, we settled in at Phil and Lori O’Days home for the week. The Sywulka’s we’re staying here too.

On Tuesday was the start of Reconnect then Homecoming for retirees. Wow, lots of dear folks we’re here.
