    Plans change

    Our flight was cancelled, so Glenn and I finished packing. Called Barcelo hotel to make arrangements for Sunday night stay. Our new flight leaves at 5:30am

    We thought we would take the shuttle over from the hotel, come to find out the shuttle is FULL.

    There is a state of calamity here for Covid. No one is allowed out on the street from 10pm to 4am

    Hopefully we can find a taxi after 4 and head on over to airport.

    We shall see.

    Glenn walked to McDonald’s and we shared a Big Mac out on our rooms patio. Great view of the airport.    Read more

    Franscesco was our flight attendent

    Karen and I follow “Life by Francesco” on YouTube and he was our flight attendant.

    About 1/2 way thru the flight I went up to the galley and had a wonderful chat with him. He is super nice. We talked about the pandemic, flying on AA and cruises. He loves Disney cruises.

    Karen was super excited that he was our flight attendant.

    Matter of fact, he wasn’t suppose to be working the flight, however, while in Dallas yesterday, AA scheduling changed his crew to work the flight to Guatemala City and then Miami this morning. I gave him our card and told him that the next time he comes through Guatemala City, we could show him Antigua. Francesco said he would give Karen a shout out in his next vblog.

    Again he was super nice.

    Cracker Barrel with friends

    We first met Judy and Tom on our latest cruise in 2020.

    They live near Melbourne Florida, so they invited us to breakfast. We met at half way point. Vero Beach, Florida.

    Fun fun time reconnecting. Tom and Judy were on the charter flight with us from South Africa on March 24, 2020. While on the cruise, they would join us for the worship service and towards the end of the cruise, we were meeting more frequently, because of the Covid 19 world crisis.

    Good to catch up with them. I made a cross stitch book mark and small frame to give to Tom and Judy.    Read more

    Jeff’s birthday breakfast

    This morning we all 4 sat out on the back screen in porch and talked about family, politics, YouTube, Netflix series and food.

    Jeff then prepared the griddle for bacon and pancakes while Glenn worked on his Mexican scrambled eggs. Kathy made the famous “Hannah’s Pancakes” from Hannah Brooks’ recipe in Samaipata, Bolivia.

    We enjoyed the evening in Port St Lucie at Bill and Bev’s.

    We did stop by Amy’s house for a short visit. She lives 10 min away!

    Bill grilled out baby-back pork ribs.

    DFW and mom/dad

    We got up at 3am to get ready for our early morning flight. Scott drove us to MCO to catch our 6am flight. I slept a little bit.

    Don and Janie picked us up and drove us to get our cars at WBT.

    Then we drove to see mom and dad. Dad wanted for Glenn to take him and get his tires checked. I stayed with mom.

    We had lunch with mom and dad. Glenn had to take the Scion to get a new key while dad watched the weekly briefing and then went to the men’s meeting.

    We drove to Midlothian to stay with Burdett’s for 2 nights.

    Covid 19 test

    Ok, we got in line at 10:45 for Covid test, and drove away at 2:30 ….Praise the Lord…negative test!!!yeah!..on the road to Kansas City!…Abrams and NW hiway.

    It’s very difficult to schedule a testing, so we are thankful that even though it took nearly 4 hours to wait in line snd get the tests back, I’m glad we got it before driving up to KC.Read more

    Grandkids

    We enjoy 2.5 days with the gkids in Illinois.

    Sunday after church, we took all 5 of the kids to a park. Elizabeth fell asleep in the van, so I stayed outside the van so she could continue to sleep. “Never wake up a sleeping baby”

    Then a picnic supper outside of Steak and Shake.

    On Labor Day, we played Apples to Apples, baked cookies and made Mexican casserole. Fun!    Read more

    Saying goodbye

    We took David and Lucy to school.

    Then Emily and I made some cards.

    At CMI we reconnected with Paty, AA gate agent. She remembers when we flew out with David and Elizabeth.

    Flying back to DFW.
