We drove to Mississippi to pick up Emily, Elizabeth and Annie for 1 week. Although we had a full week, we managed to drive to Dallas 2 times to see grandmommy/daddy and participate in Northwest Bible Church Mission conference. Leia mais

    Overnight in Jackson

    We took our time driving to jackson, Mississippi.

    We ate lunch in Minden at the Happiness Hamburgers.

    We had a wonderful evening visiting with Lois and her daughter Quita. I’ve known Lois for 45 years. She and her husband, Marty were team leaders when I traveled one summer through Central America with 50 other college students in 1977. That experience changed my life.Leia mais

    Day 2

    We arrived at home at 1:45am. Little Elizabeth woke up several times screaming out. Other than that, the drive was long, hard and uneventful.

    We had a picnic inside the Hardee’s restaurant. We did buy some French fries, yet I pulled out some Vienna sausages, chips and apple sauce that I bought at Dollar General.

    Everyone slept in til 9am when we had a zoom call with Brighton and Violet. The cousins enjoyed meeting again over the zoom.

    First things First, the girls needed a shower. First time the bathtub was used. I even combed their hair and put it up in pony tails.

    We then went garage sailing. Didn’t find anything.

    We had leftovers for lunch. Then nap time. Emily snd Elizabeth read a book.

    They were d see o excited about building their castle. Glenn had saved boxes for them to play in.

    After supper out on the porch we walked around the neighborhood.    Leia mais

    Day 3 NBC Mission week

    We left Tyler at 5:53am. We had the girls sleep in their Sunday clothes. They slept all the way to Dallas until we got to McDonald’s for breakfast and me to comb the girls hair!

    We shared in Debbie Smith Sunday school class. Then picnic afterwards. Snow cones.

    We visited granddaddy and grandmommy then to Love Field to watch the planes land.    Leia mais

    Day 4 Chillaxing

    I took Emily and Elizabeth to TJMAX to get some summer clothes for Annie. Success!

    Glenn put Annie down for a nap at 11:45 and she woke up at 4:20.

    Aunt Sarah came over to pick up Emily and Elizabeth to go out for dinner and treat Elizabeth for her birthday.

    Day 5 Dollar Tree, park and cookies

    I adventured to the Dollar Tree store with ALL 3 kids. I had intentions of going to Walmart but decided not. Instead we stopped at a local park. The park was the best I’ve seen in a long time. Very kid friendly for all ages.

    I pulled the stuff out of the sacks and we made last minutes jelly sandwiches with chips and cookies and juice box.

    Glenn joined us from his errands for the picnic.

    I had the girls rest while Annie took a nap. Emily and I made cookies while Elizabeth played with her doll.

    We then drove to Chandler to look at a sofa bed from FB marketplace. We stopped by Sonic for their 1/2 cheeseburgers and playground for the kids to play on.

    When we got home, everyone took a bath and washed their hair. I had gotten sponge type curlers.

    I then made yellow cake and chocolate pudding frosting.    Leia mais

    Day 8 Garage Sale and Picnic

    We went to several garage sales and then ended up at the park for a picnic.

    After a nice afternoon nap, the kids played with new toys I had ( the same ones Ellen played with) the plastic plates and McDonald’s French fries and Big Mac.

    We got our huge trash can today, so Glenn gave everyone a “ride”.

    Emily helped me make some biscuits to go with the beans and rice I cooked in the crockpot!    Leia mais

    A day of holding Amanda

    I spent the entire day holding Amanda. Ellen spent the morning at the library with Emily. We also had Annie here at the house.

    Before dinner, we had cupcakes then opened Elizabeth’s 5th bday presents from family

    Oh while holding Amanda I watch The Amazing Race non-stop. It was the season where they went to Dubai and Luxor. I was in heaven - watching my favorite show and holding 2 month old Amanda!    Leia mais
