  • Bob - a M.I.R.A.C.L.E.

    February 23, 2023 in Guatemala ⋅ ⛅ 77 °F

Thursday we headed out to the lake. Glenn is borrowing the Williams’ van for the week we are here in Guatemala.

Our first stop was Bob’s house and his beautiful garden. Last May, Bob was at the doctors office and was told “you have just a few hours to live, if we don’t do this much needed operation.” It was touch and go for several days and maybe a few weeks.

In my mind, I kissed him goodbye-never to see him again. He could have very well died on the operating table. There’s a technical/medical term, but essentially it’s a bleeding colon.

    Bob is a miracle.

As we visited with Bob, he expressed his appreciation to be alive. His lifestyle has completely changed. He has 24 hour round the clock nursing care. He’ll never be able to drive, go on a cruise or even fly.

His lifestyle is very limited. His diet is very strict. He said, “think of it this way, if it tastes good, I can’t eat it!”

Then in the same breath he says “I send out daily devotion to several hundred folks around the world. And one pastor in Cuba is able to forward it on to 900 folks!”

Like many of us, although sometimes we are limited in our ability to personally visit face to face, God has given Bob opportunities to touch people’s hearts and lives through the internet.

We then walked down to the deli for breakfast. We had French toast.

I cross stitched in the morning then after about 1:30, we went to the new restaurant Dona Ana. Grill chicken.

The first session started at 7.
