  • Happy 50 Wedding Anniversary

    April 19 in the United States ⋅ 🌧 63 °F

We drove another hour up to Sulphur Springs Ark to attend the 50th Anniversary Open House for Larry and Susie Hendren. They served with BMA (Baptist Missionary Association) back in the 80’s and. 90’s down in Santa with Cruz, Bolivia with us. Larry was a pilot up at the airstrip where the SAM AIR had their Cessna parked.

Wow what fun memories. We also reconnected with Marvin and Helen Lloyd and their adult daughter, Stella. So we sat around the table throwing out names of other friends with New Tribes or GMU or independent folks.

The last time we visited with Larry and Susie was back in 2007 when we brought Gary up to JBU in Siloam Springs, Ark. Susie had tears in her eyes when she saw us walk thru the church doors.

We have deep appreciation for Susie and Larry and their faithful ministry to folks in Bolivia and to Cape Verde. Their daughter, Rebekah and Ellen were in the same class as Santa Cruz Christian Learning Center. I would sometimes flight follow for Susie over the Ham Radio. Glenn shared the same hanger with Larry up at kilometer 6.

    Happy 50th Wedding Anniversary!

    Not Paris, France. Paris, Texas

It rained on us most of the 8 hour drive.

Monday, we had Eric and Susan join us for lunch. A great time of talking about challenges we both face as missionaries. After a quick game of “Kings Corner” we then drove up for a quick conversation with Phil Burks at his office.Read more
