  • Cádiz, Spain

    April 24 in Spain ⋅ ☁️ 66 °F

I slept in. Glenn did the bicycle with Jeff. We had arrangements for Norma, worker that lives 30 minutes from the port. She drove us to her ministry office. She had some folks come and teach Spanish to some ladies that have immigrated from North Africa.

Katia and Josh drove over from Málaga Spain and shared the day with us. They work in member care to the missionary kids with Avant.

Norma shared her testimony however I was very tired and sleepy. So I dozed off.

We all then walked to a local and typical Spanish restaurant. Jeff and Kathy enjoyed seafood. Glenn and I shared a pork check. It was very tender.

We stopped at a grocery store to purchase some goodies for our steward and other folks.

We returned back to the NCL Viva by 4pm.

  • Motril, Spain

    April 25 in Spain ⋅ ☁️ 63 °F

NCL excursion of El Torcal which is a national park with unique rocks- very similar to parks in Utah and the ancient cobbled stone city of Antequera (old city). Nice 2 hour bus ride each way. We had pizza at a local restaurant with Wayne and Laura. We drove to Malaga and then on up the mountain to see the most unusual rock formation. Some flatten rocks reminds you of IHOP stack of pancakes. The area is famous for citrus fruits of lime and lemon plus olive trees, papaya and avocados. Very good day. Beautiful area.

I walked “the el Camino”, a small portion of it!

  • Montserrat, Spain

    April 29 in Spain ⋅ ⛅ 64 °F

Sad Day - we disembarked from the beautiful NCL Viva. It was a wonderful trip traveling with Jeff and Kathy and reconnecting with Wayne and Laura.

We played games, laughed and enjoyed doing excursions together. Jeff preached at the 2 Sunday services and we met new friends and reconnected with several staff members that have cruised with us on other cruises,

Today we took an excursion that took us up to the beautiful Montserrat. Beautiful church perched up on the hillside. We were given 2 hours on our own. Glenn and I sat in the church for 45 minutes and listened to organ music and bells.

Afterwards we bought bread and crackers and ate along the side walk.

Next stop was CavaWine to see how the grapes are grown and the process of wine making.

We were the last stop on the excursion bus, so we saw much more of Barcelona as folks were dropped off at their hotels. We’re staying at the Best Western Plus near the airport. Our flight leave tomorrow.
