    August 4, 2018 in Canada ⋅ ☀️ 21 °C

And so ... in preparation for all the walking we are going to be doing on our upcoming trip, we thought the old boy should start logging a few kilometers. I also wanted to practice with the blogging app before we travel.

So we took a little time to enjoy the new walking path recently constructed nearby us. It was a perfect temperature for strolling the coullees. The scenery is gorgeous with the contrast between the barren prairie grass and the black- eyed susans that line the walking path. There is plenty of wildlife; mule deer that are not scared until you stop walking ... really skittish teensy bright yellow birds that defy portrait taking ... and well ... lots of ropes (as my Bestie affectionately calls them). Yes, these vast prairies are densely inhabited by rattle snakes, bull snakes, garder snakes ...etc. Gah!!!

Lucky for me I have not yet come upon them, but ... its only a matter of time. And so ... both my Bestie and my hubby have very lovingly agreed to be on 'rope alert' for me. Logically I know those slithery reptiles won't hurt me ... but my amygdala doesn't honor my analytical mind. And so ... I am grateful for their watchful eyes on the path.

I didn't take any pics of the river or the staircases down to it. I will see if I can do that ... and ... find out if I can add to my blogging here once I have posted it.

Hope your day is filled with smiles,
    Karen and John

P.S. we took another wander this evening ... added a little video!
