Mercado Fluvial del Valdivia

One of the main reasons for us to visit Valdivia is a colourful market by the river. One side is dedicated to fruit and vegetables and second to a fish market that you can smell instantly.
The biggest attraction of the market lies in the water and on its shore. Small colony of Lobos Marinos realized an easy lifestyle feeding on the remains of the fish thrown into the river by the fishmongers.
That allows for a very close up look at those huge and amazing animals.
We absolutely loved looking from the pier at the while they swim around, feed on the fish heads or sleep.Read more
