Ettelbruck to Radelange

Following the Euro Velo 5 gave us some very nice cycle path to go on. Some were obviously old railways with plenty of information boards. They must have had their own Beeching's railway cuts but at the same time the fore-thought to preserve the old railway beds for cycleways. Only one small issue with a 'route barreé'. Quite often we pass these barriers and find a bicycle and even a tandem can get through. Not this time! Some zealous council worker firmly attached the barriers top an bottom to the bridge. Only taking all bags off and lifting the tandem over would have got us through! In the end the detour was only 3km, not too bad.
We got to the Belgium border at Martelange, quite an awful little town, too busy with traffic and cars shopping. Quick exit after losing €28 at Delhaize. Packet of chickpeas €3.50. The last of Luxembourg shopping! €35 for 3, 2 tents.Lue lisää
