    Leaving the hills of East Sussex quickly to get to the flat coasts near Rye. The nature reserves around Dungeness where very tranquil if not tricky to negotiate with an tandem. The old then of Rye provided the needed sustenance to push on towards Folkestone along the coast path. Hythe provided another BCQ as well as a refreshing fountain with water all at the same time.
    The cliffs of Dover are not only big and bold from the sea when on a ferry but also when you want to get to Dover and through the other end.
    Whilst getting on top of the first cliff we also had our first ever puncture on the tandem! Repaired quickly but the equipment quartermaster failed to provide an adequate pump that could inflate an inner tube!
    Campsite eventually reached after 95km mostly in the sun. Pub meal and pint called for!
