KK to Sandakan to Sepilok Nature Resort

In Sandakan, we visited a War Memorial and were told quite a moving story about the 2,434 Australian prisoners who lost their lives here during WW2. They were forced to march 220km (bare foot) to Renau in the centre of Sabah - supposedly to build an airfield for the Japanese. Only 6 survived. They hold an Anzac Day Service at the Memorial Park here every year.Leggi altro
