    Walk over Helgoland

    We arrived with the boat from Hamburg relatively early in the morning and did a first walk around the island. Since it isn't big, we could do this within the time before check-in for our hotel opened.
    During may, it is bird breeding season so there were a lot of nests everywhere.    Read more

    Second half of the first day, we visited the bunkers below the island and learned a lot about the history, especially during the world war times.

    The next day, after checking out from our hotel, there was enough time left before our boat to Hamburg departed, so that we could take a ferry over to Düne, the second island right next to Helgoland, where we were able to walk around the beaches once and eat lunch in the restaurant there.Read more
