DE25 #4: Mecklenburg-Vorpommern

After visiting some cities and two islands of Schleswig-Holstein, we decided to let the state be and move on with our Germany Trip. Next up, right next to it, is Mecklenburg-Vorpommern with its big lake area. Read more

    Schwerin & Lake

    We started by taking a train to Schwerin, where we rented a boat for a few hours. Weather was great but still not many people around. We went in a big circle around the lake and had a great view on the castle.

    Afterwards, we approached the castle from the landside and walked around in the park, too.    Read more

    Waren (Müritz)

    The next day, we continued to even more lakes. We took the train to Waren (Müritz) and stayed there for an afternoon, walked around the little city and decided to go on a guided tour on a ship.

    Last stop on our trip is Malchow, a small town nearby (you guessed it) a lake! We were out of luck with getting a boat for the day, so instead we just chilled with some ice and visited a museum about East Germany instead.Read more
