Hello and welcome to a new trip by the mashplofs! We arrived to Switzerland today, more specifically to the little village of Weesen nearby Lake Walen. After a long day of sitting in trains and running across stations, we only took a little walk to the lake for now. Tomorrow will have more activities planned!Read more

Our day started by taking the bus to Amden and then we walked, walked, walked for an hour until we reached the viewpoint with an amazing view across the lake.

Lunch on top of the Mountain

We took the lift up from Amden to Niederschlag, nearby the mountain peak of Mattstogg, where we ate lunch and enjoyed another great view. This is also the highest we will be during our trip as we have other things planned for the next days.Read more

Night walk in Weesen

We decided to take a walk when it was already dark. Moon was shining bright, the lake was beautiful and silent and so were the little lights around us on the mountains.

Boat tour to Betlis

Via boat we went to Betlis, a small village located right next to the lake. The boat was very full but we luckily got seats.
Next up is a 35 min walk to the waterfalls.

Walk to the Waterfalls

In the end, it was more a 60 min than a 35 min walk with lots of great views over the lake and not enough shade to take a break.

Arrived at the waterfalls! Due to the dry summer with only a little rain, the waterfalls were pretty small - but impressive nonetheless. During high times, the sign said, over 10k liters of water falls down per second!Read more

We came across a ruin, which turned out to be 2000 years old. What an impressive age for a pile of rocks!

We wanted to have something chill to end the day with and found a "family activity/walk" ranked as not very difficult just nearby our place. Turned out to be extremely steep in the beginning which made us almost gave up. But we went through with it and got rewarded with some cute dragons and, again, nice views.Read more

The weather forecast said it would rain and storm most of the day (and it was correct about that), so we decided against another day at the lake and instead went to Vaduz, Liechtenstein, where we got the All Inclusive Adventure Pass and did most of the things Vaduz has to offer for tourists, including four museums, a city train, an old cinema and a pretty building on the cliff above the city.Read more

Zürich

One last stop before we return home is an hour in Zürich. We decided to just spend our time at the river and enjoy the beautiful day.

This marks the end of our Switzerland (+ Liechtenstein) trip! It was pretty intense and we enjoyed it a lot!
