Home sweet home

With a 5am check-in required I was so thankful that I’d been able to get a room at the airport hotel in Wellington. It was simply a matter of checking out then taking the lift downstairs to the check-in area. The flights went smoothly enough and we touched down in Brisbane on schedule.

I got the usual dirty look from an immigration official for travelling on a New Zealand passport while being a permanent and naturalised Australian resident, but apart from that it was all plain sailing. I took the Skytrain to the city, and after a short wait for Julie who was at a pole class nearby she picked me up and dropped me to home and reality. As usual I stayed up until about 11pm local time.
