It’s very long way from Brisbane to Uluru. A 3.5 hour flight in any other part of the world could see you traverse several countries. It all went smoothly, and we collected our rental car at the airport. It was a short drive to our accommodation at the Desert Sands Resort, a comfortable enough room.
Our initial surprise came in discovering that the desert there isn’t so barren after all. There are plenty of trees, spinifex and other ground cover.
