    Crabby fest!

    May 1, 2017 in the United States ⋅ ☁️ 9 °C

Took a break from the work scene and we went to the Astoria Crab Seafood and Wine fest. We stayed at Ft. Stevens State Park arriving on Wednesday. On the way we had a bit of work done on our AV system in Woodland WA. While we waited we took the opportunity to check out the new casino in La Center, the Ilani. It's huge! We aren't really gamblers but it's always fun to see the glitz. Boy did they provide. It was only day 2 of opening and there were lines everywhere. At 10am no less. Literally thousands of people. We took a look around then made a quick exit. On to Astoria!

Once settled in our site we did some exploring in Astoria, hitting the Bow Picker for some great tuna and chips, YUUUUMMMM! The weather broke and we got some sunshine and warm sun in the afternoons for a few days. We made the best of it by checking out the clatsop spit, the fort, and several miles of walking and biking with and without the pups.

Saturday morning we headed for the festival. What can i say. We met with our good friends the Giltz's and spent a great day sampling all sorts of food and libations. What another great day! Back to the Moho for some rest and recovery. Sunday we met again with the Giltz's and our other wonderful friends the Vilandres. More food! Jim made some of the best seafood chowder that have ever passed over these tastebuds. Thanks Jim!

Monday - ugh! Return to Troutdale and back to work....for now.
