Riung - 17 islands

We leave the cooler mountainous area of both Ruteng and Bajawa and head to tiny coastal place Riung. Here it is all about the Seventeen Islands Marine park (actually 23 uninhabited islands). Two times a daytrip by boat resulted in spectacular views of thousands of flying foxes (bats but bigger, sleeping in trees, eating fruits), delicious fish from the bbq, chilling at the beaches and snorkeling/swimming around.
