Lima- Day 1

A couple of firsts happened today: I had the chance to sleep in, and did, and I got to the gym, it felt great. Once I finally left the hotel, I walk around The Miraflores neighborhood, exploring various streets and Kennedy Park, which has become a haven for local cats. I then strolled down to the Pacific Ocean to walk along the cliffs, spotting paragliders.

In the afternoon, I joined a walking/food tour of the Barranco neighborhood, sampling local coffee and fruits, an empanada, chocolate, a pisco sour, ceviche, steak stir fry, cow’ heart, and locally made ice cream.

Following the tour, the group decided to hang out at a local bar to watch Team USA in the World Cup. The game was utterly disappointing, but we made the most of it.Read more
