Huacachina

The bus tour continued to Huacachina, the highlight for me. Huacachina is a small oasis on the edge of giant dunes in the Peruvian desert. We got into dune buggies to ride over the dunes, stopping many times for scenic views and to ski down the mountain lying down face first on essentially snowboards (don’t worry mom, I wore a helmet).

At our last vista we watched the sunset and drank a celebratory local beer to remember the moment.

Then, just a short 5 hour bus ride back to Lima, arriving at my hotel at midnight. Only 4 hours of sleep tonight, tomorrow morning I leave for Ecuador.Read more
