Festival of Lights in Luang Prabang

When we arrived in Luang Prabang I realized that the anual festival of lights was going to happen on that exact date. How fortunate! The town was packed, as was to be expected, but it was a wonderful and very special experience which I enjoyed very much! Apparently, every community or club in the area builds a boat. They are carried or moved throught the whole city, then the candles are lit and the boats are being put on the water. It includes a lot of manpower and strenths, but it is a beautiful sight. Furthermore, the whole city is decorated with colourful lights. It was indeed the best point of time to visit beautiful Luang Prabang.Читать далее
