Arriving in Vang Vieng

The next day, I took the bus from Luang Prabang to Vang Vieng, a little town in between L.P. and Vientiane. I had discovered this place in 2004 when it was a small village hosting a little hippi community. Tubing had just started, but the place was really quiet and there were only a few homestays and bars. While the nature around the town hasn't changed and it's still worth a visit, the village has become quite a booming town (not very pretty though) and even the beautiful surroundings are overrun by tourists - mainly from Korea. It was a little heart breaking to see how much the place had changed, but I was very lucky with my hotel which was a bit hard to get to (you need to take a boat across the river).
