Bagley Icefield

We cross over the Don Jek River which is fed by the largest icefield in North America. The river is braided and rocky and winds widely through the valley. The icefield extends over a huge area of the St Elias Range. We have been following craggy valley sides that show extensive glacial and volcanic activity.The Bagley Icefield in southeastern Alaska is the largest nonpolar icefield in North America.Read more
