Cruising the Danube from Krems

We board our public vessel at Krems and are cruising for 30 kms up the river to Spitz. We are cruising in the Wachau Valley which is a UNESCO World Heritage site.
We pass picturesque villages and vineyards that cling to the steep hillsides adjoining the river. There are many castle ruins right on the top of the ridges which would have given a clear view of anyone approaching from the river.
It’s a very popular cycling route and there are lots of cyclists out today.Read more
