Belgrade - the White City

The Serbian Capital, Belgrade’s name, means “white city” and refers to the massive fortress above the confluence of the Danube and Sava Rivers. Belgrade is a mix of neoclassical architecture, baroque mansions, Ottoman mosques, Turkish inns and Soviet apartment blocks. The old city is located high on one the nine hills which make up Belgrade.
