Docking in Vukovar

Now in Croatia and docking in Vukovar, a city that was bombed heavily in the 1990’s Balkan wars. More than 81% of the town was destroyed. With international help, most has been rebuilt but there is still evidence of bombed buildings and shrapnel damage. Swans glide peacefully on the Danube as we dock.
A Tamburica folk band comes on board and plays for us. There are 5 basic types of tamburica - stringed instruments, all with different pitches.Читать далее
