Melk is a town that dates back to the 11th and 12th centuries. It is a former Roman border post and fortress.
The Benedictine Melk Abbey is situated on a cliff 61m above the town. It was founded in 1089AD. We chose to stay on the ship as we had visited Melk Abbey on previous trips.Read more
