    Marbach is the centre of a scenic hiking area on the Danube. 233m above the Danube sits the Maria Taferi Pilgrimage Church.
    Maria Taferi is the town where the Basilica is situated. The town has been a place of religious activity since the Celts. It is said to be the place where miraculous recoveries from serious illness take place. The basilica was built between 1660-1710.

    Ybbs was established in 1317. It was the intersection of important trade routes in Europe and held great economic importance in the Middle Ages.
