Tomb, Embrace, Mass, Botafumeiro

Lit a candle right on the entrance to the tomb of St. James. This is for all the intentions I carried on this camino.

I saw the tomb, said a quick prayer, and then followed the line for apparently a tradition of hugging the life-sized bejeweled St. James. I didn't know this! Felt weird, but also a very unique experience!

At 630pm, a full hour before the start of the Pilgrim's mass, I went inside the basilica and found a seat all the way in the back! 🫨 Pilgrims are very nice during the camino, but most of them are not when saving seats for their party. 🤪 Anyways, the mass was pretty good and the botafumeiro was used at the end. It was indeed a sight to behold - and completes my camino.
