    I liked the Hawaiian vibe so much on my October visit, that I decided to move there. When I got back to Oakland, I looked on Craigslist for a rental I might be able to afford and found one on the island of Moloka'i, across the channel from O'ahu.

    Following several telephone and email exchanges, I signed a lease beginning December 1, gave notice at my job in Oakland, and flew to Moloka'i, via an overnight stop in the hostel in Waikiki, to check out my little studio in the island's main town, Kaunakakai.    Read more
